I had a great day boxing in central CT today! Actually, two days, since I
did get out after work yesterday! SInce I work in the Enfield area on
Fridays, I went out to Northwest Park in Windsor and found all nine boxes I
was looking for(I already acquired Slow Poke on a previous visit). The RTRW
series, "A Perfect Summer Afternoon" had just the right amount of difficulty
to it, considering that there were two VERY large birch trees down on the
lavender trail! I spent some time at the first birch, before realizing that
there MUST be a second one somewhere! I was sad to report that I did not get
to meet Carolyn of Carolyn and Bob :-(... from what I hear, she's there at
the park quite a bit ;-)
Today, I was able to go out with Butterfly and Lobsta Lady to the Durham
Middletown area and found some boxes which really have not been visited for
quite a while! The three boxes in the Bear Hill Series had not been visited
since 4/20/02!!!! It was nice to see all three in good shape, with the
exception of the third, which had a totally icky stamp pad. We then went
over to "Hills, Rocks, and Trees oh My!" and found all three there (and NO, I
did not get any help from Lobsta or Butterfly, even though they had already
been there). I also visited the Perk on Main letterbox, and found it
without clues (and NO, I didn't ask for any help there either!). Not bad,
considering that I didn't get boxing until 12:00 p.m. due to having to take
my car into the Auto Body shop, and get a rental for the entire week!
My one word of advice, try not to get your parked car hit by a school bus.....
Happy Trails Everyone!

Hi, I am Carolyn of Bob and Carolyn. Sorry to miss you at Northwest Park. I work there in the Nature Center on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Isn't it a great place? It is a fun place to work too. Hope to meet you and other letterboxers soon. Carolyn (Voyageur)

Carolyn and Bob,
Dan, Sue, Sara, Max, and I were behind you yesterday at Rocky Neck,
finding Winter Camping is for the birds! I'm not sure how early you were
there, but we arrived around 11/11:30. Wasn't it a great day for
letterboxing?

Boy, you guys in CT are ahead of us in enjoyable weather days for
letterboxing. I was visiting family in CT Thursday and happened to have
my letterboxing stuff with me... Took an early morning walk at McCook's
in Niantic in search of Marathon Man. Found it. A great day to be at
the beach!

Carolyn
How is this for an idea ?? When I have to pull theRock Neck 'Birds' from
the camping circles, in a week or so, do you think they could 'fly '
north west and land somewhere in that lovely park for the summer ? That
way all the folks from up in that area that never were able to make it
south to Rocky Neck, would be able to enjoy the series ?? What say you??
The R.N.S.P. and the Crane boxes would not travel with them, of course,
so that would be five boxes.
